La guerra è cominciata venerdì scorso. La guerra delle parole tra hezbollah e Israele. Ad aprirla, nei termini più duri, è stato il comandante del fronte nord, generale Gabi Eisenkrot, con una lunga intervista al più diffuso giornale israeliano, Yedioth Ahronot, pubblicata il 3 ottobre e condotta da Alex Fishman e Ariella Ringel-Hoffman . La lunga intervista è tutta interessante, ma il passo che più è stato ripreso dalle agenzie di stampa è quello sull’uso sproporzionato della forza in caso di nuova guerra tra Israele e Libano. Uso sproporzionato che è stato già usato nella guerra dell’estate del 2006, causando oltre mille morti civili in Libano, ma senza ottenere un grande risultato politico per Tel Aviv: anzi. Ora, dice Eisenkrot, l’uso sproporzionato della forza – condannato a dire il vero da tutte le convenzioni internazionali [inciso mio] – viene definito come una vera e propria dottrina, approvata dal governo israeliano.
“Why do you call it the Putin doctrine?” he says rather angrily, “I call it the Dahiya doctrine. What happened in the Dahiya quarter in Beirut in 2006 will happen in every village from which Israel is fired upon. We will apply disproportionate force upon it and cause great damage and destruction there. From our standpoint, these are not civilian villages, they are military bases.”
Q: This is your recommendation to the IDF General Staff and the political echelon: Attack with full force every village from which fire is carried out?
“It’s not a recommendation, this is the plan. And it has already been approved.”

Q: The stage doctrine has been canceled. From the first moment, one hits with full force?
“Yes. That is the answer. The bottom line, simply put, is this: If fire is carried out from Shiite villages in Lebanon, this is the operational plan: Very aggressive fire.”
Q: We already tried this in Operation Accountability, Operation Grapes of Wrath and the last war.
“The pattern of activity in Operation Accountability and Operation Grapes of Wrath was completely different: There was no massive fire into the villages, but rather at the outskirts of the villages, in order to drive away the population. In the Second Lebanon War, we employed large quantities of armament. How were 120,000 homes destroyed?”
Q: And yet they continued to fire.
“Hizbullah understands full well that if it fires from villages, this will lead to their destruction. Before Nasrallah gives the order to fire at Israel, he will have to think 30 times whether he wants to destroy his base of support in the villages. This is not a theoretical matter for him. The possibility of harm to the population is Nasrallah’s main restraint, and the reason for the quiet in the past two years.”
Ci sono varie notizie in questa intervista. Intanto che esiste una “dottrina Dahiya”. E poi che l’esercito israeliano dichiara di aver distrutto 120mila case in Libano nel 2006…
La risposta di hezbollah non si è ovviamente fatta attendere, con una dichiarazione al giornale degli Emirati al Ittihad, riportata ieri da Haaretz. Risposta lapidaria: “Israel is wrestling with its many problems and has no capability to start a war over Lebanon”. La guerra delle parole è in corso. A quando la guerra vera? Il periodo è veramente delicato, in Medio Oriente, e lo sarà almeno sino a tutto gennaio, perché le scadenze foriere di imprevedibili instabilità sono tante.
